Pam Lundell
Inducted September 18, 2021
Pam Lundell has been on Twin Cities radio for over 30 years. She knew she loved radio when she started working in the offices of WCCO 830 in the early ‘80s while majoring in Broadcast Communications at the University of Minnesota. Pam was thrilled to be there at the same time as Boone and Erickson, Joyce Lamont, Steve Cannon and so many more. Pam’s first on-air stint was at KRFO in Owatonna playing Casey Kasem’s Top 40 each week and also did a weekend Polka show. For a time, she was assistant to Mike Kronforst in the placement department at Brown Institute and began her radio career at Cities 97/KTCJ Twin Cities Jazz and was awarded “Best Jazz DJ” in 1988 at the MN Music Awards.
Pam (as Pam Reed) was a traffic reporter on many Twin Cities stations from 1990-94. Pam was the morning voice on many stations, including Classic Country 104 with Tim Russell from 1994-96, and did mornings on Smooth Jazz 104.1 FM and 104.1 FM, The Point. Pam was then morning news anchor for the Minnesota News Network from 1999-2003. She worked with her husband John Lundell on the “KLBB Breakfast Club” from 2003-2005 and sold-out numerous listener trips.
John died in 2005 and was inducted into the Minnesota Broadcasting Hall of Fame posthumously in 2008. Pam says she was then led to KTIS where she started at Faith radio and has been a part of the 98.5 KTIS Morning show for the past 16 years. She says, “The best part of being on KTIS is the trust that listeners place in me when sharing life’s pain and triumphs both on and off the air. I have a ringside seat to God’s miracles every morning.” Pam was awarded “National Radio Personality of the Year” in 2010 at the NRB Convention. Pam is board member emeritus in the non-profit for widows, “Widow Might” which she helped start in 2009. Pam is an in-demand voiceover talent and has been a part of Twin Cities Public Television fundraisers as an on-air talent since 1996.
